I developed this tool to comprehensively explore all aspects of kanji, going beyond mere radicals, in order to uncover connections among different characters. For instance, 風 and 嵐 have distinct radicals, yet they share 9 strokes: a different kanji (覧) with the same kunyomi (らん) as the aforementioned ones.
A component could convey phonetic resonance or semantic significance, or it might be a result of historical transformations and simplifications. This tool strictly examines visual associations, sidestepping intricate deductions that could lead to inaccuracies. It does call attention to:
- Shared kunyomi or matching onyomi + meaning
- Variant forms of radicals
At least two similar sites are worth checking out, these site will gave you more complex result:
- Suiren (hop between compounds) — presently unavailable
- The Kanji Map (similar to this tool, and was there first)
